Devotionals
The word "devotion" describes a consistent attachment which is formed and maintained through ardent affection.
When we first come to hear about God's love and accept His gift of salvation, it is a joyful time. Then comes the challenge to keep that joy as the days go on and we face old attitudes and difficult circumstances – "dry" times when we feel alone again and we can't sense God's presence like we did at first.
God is already fully devoted to us – nothing can change His devotion to us. So devotionals are really for us, to help us stay mindful of His undying love for us and our growing love for Him in response. They help us to keep thinking about His true character and nature, Who He really is. And as we do this, our devotion to Him is strengthened.
Today's Devotional
"Have faith in God," Jesus answered. "I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." Mark 11:22-24
When you pray to God, your prayers WILL be answered. If you believe with your heart when you pray and you truly believe that it will happen, God will answer them. Never have doubt in your heart after you pray. Always believe. Be confident and knowing that whatever you ask for in prayer WILL be yours. Our God is a God of giving. He wants us to have all that we need. But He never wants us to doubt. So whatever you ask for in prayer, KNOW that it will be yours.
